Scope and Content: File contains material produced during various commemorative and celebratory events held by the District of West Vancouver to mark the centennial of the entry of British Columbia into Canadian confederation. Includes notes, correspondence, schedules, and newspaper clippings, as well as records relating to the Centennial '71 Committee's review of applications for the Pioneer Medallion - an award presented to Canadian citizens who were born in Canada, or resident in Canada prior to January 1, 1897, and who were residents of West Vancouver in 1971. File also includes records of the awards ceremony and presentation dinner, an example of the medallion, as well as applications for the Pioneer Medallion.
