Scope and Content
Item is a photograph of the pole and cairn erected at Ambleside Beach to commemorate the then record crossing of Canada on foot by Clyde McRae. Mr. McRae left Blackrock Beach, Nova Scotia on May 1, 1973 and arrived at Ambleside Beach on August 4, 96 days later. There is snow on the ground.
