- Formerly that portion of 26th Street extending north of the Upper Levels Highway. Name recommended by Street Names Committee and adopted by Council in 1962.
- Named for the Hollyburn Aerial Tramways chairlift which once provided access to Hollyburn Ridge from a terminus station which this road provided access to.
