- Artist Biography
- Eric Metcalfe was born in Vancouver in 1940 and grew up in Vancouver. He is a visual and performance artist whose practice has crossed, intersected and blended a variety of mediums and disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, printmaking, performance and film. His work has close ties to the Fluxus movement and conceptual art, and was strongly influenced by an interest in jazz.His works have been exhibited and collected at numerous local, national and international institutions. He is co-founder of the artist-run centre, the Western Front.
