Caulfeild Elementary School

Synopsis: Caulfeild Elementary School was opened in 1957 at 4685 Keith Road, West Vancouver and serves students in the western end of West Vancouver from kindergarten to grade 7. Earlier schools in the Caulfeild area include a one-room school in Captain Kettle's cottage (1916) and the first Cypress Park School (1917-1918, 1920-1927).

Dates of Changes: 1965 - Grade 7 added; 1983 - Grade 7 moved to High School; 1998 - Grade 7 reinstituted

Mandate: Caulfeild Elementary School is charged with educating children from kindergarten to grade 7 living within the catchment area bounded to the north by the northern boundary of West Vancouver: to the east by Cypress Creek extending from the northern boundary of the municipality to the ocean: to the West by the eastern boundary of Eagle Harbour Primary School: and to the south by the ocean south of Gulf Beach Park, including the 5100 block of Marine Drive to the mouth of Cypress Creek.

Functions and Activities: Caulfeild Elementary School educates students from kindergarten to grade 7.

Structure: Caulfeild Elementary is administered by a principal and one vice-principal.
